Huntington Beach Seniors Trip to Miramar Air Show

Blue Angels airplanesTickets are on sale now for an exciting trip to San Diego for the Miramar Air Show on Friday, September 30.

The largest and best air show in our nation featuring the Blue Angels will once again showcase amazing aerial performances by both military and civilian aviators.

Reservations include special observation-deck seating and unlimited drinking water. Offered through the Huntington Beach Council on Aging’s Travel and Trips program, the price $83.00.

The tour bus departs from the Michael E. Rodgers Seniors Center, 1706 Orange Avenue at 8:30 A.M. and returns at 6:30 P.M. Register in advance at Rodgers Seniors Center on Tuesdays 9:00 – 11:00 am, or Thursdays and Fridays from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. For more information call 714-536-9387. Recreation Classes for Fall

The SANDS Community Services Guide has a whole lot of fun in store for the fall 2011 season. A variety of workshops are offered including an alternative outdoor cooking class at Murdy Community Center. Students will cook in Dutch ovens, open fire, charcoal, alcohol burner, camp stove, tripod, stick, foil, and stone.

41st Annual Huntington Beach City Surf contest

The 41st Annual Huntington Beach City Surf contest, sponsored by the City of Huntington Beach Community Service Department, Huntington Surf & Sport, and Duke’s was held on Saturday, September 17 through Sunday, September 18, just south of the beautiful Huntington Beach Pier.

Participation was limited to persons residing in the Huntington Beach Union High School District and approximately 175 people of all ages surfed in ten divisions.
Winners of each division received awards and prizes donated by Huntington Surf & Sport, Duke’s and the Downtown Business Association. This year the contest was part of “Surf City Days” a local beach festival put on by the Down Town Business Association.

Huntington Beach Senior Saturday on Sept 10th

All seniors are invited to the 10th annual Senior Saturday featuring live entertainment and over 70 sponsor booths with information, products and services for seniors in Huntington Beach.
